Thank you for 200+ submissions

Thank you to everyone who submitted to the Ninth Heaven Summer Short Story Competition.

We received 200+ submissions. That number represents a great deal of time, attention, and risk. It reflects the quiet labour of drafting, revising, cutting, and sending work out into the world. We don’t take that lightly.

For some of you, this will be the first time these stories have left your desk. For others, it will be one submission among many. Either way, thank you for trusting Ninth Heaven with your work, and for helping establish the standard this competition can grow into.

Winners will be announced on 26 March.

To mark the occasion, we’ll be hosting the Ninth Heaven Awards Night in Sydney in late March. It will be a simple evening to gather, announce the prize recipients, and share the work with the wider Ninth Heaven community.
